Yesterday as I was journaling my morning prayers I wrote this, “When so much is thrown at us at once we fear first instead of Father first”.
As that saying flowed out of me on to the paper, I was struck by the truth of it. When things are tough; when the world seems to be crashing down all at once from all sides; all to often it is our tendency to fear first. “What if” this happens? What did I do wrong? Is God even hearing me? Does God even truly care about me? If He does then why is all this happening to me?
We see the problems, the fears, before we see the God who is BIGGER than them.
After receiving this word about Father First, I Thanked God for the reminder of placing Him First, seeing Him and His promises instead of my problems. I was also reminded of prayer, praying instead of fearing, and wrote this; “Lord, Thank you for reminding me that it is more than prayer, more than asking. It is praising, appreciating, and above all abiding- obeying Your word. Prayer is not a one way communication of our needs {You know our needs}. Prayer is two way which we need to also listen and to obey.”
Take the time to praise God-even in the storms of life. Take the time to listen to what He might be telling you. Do your part and obey. Yes, it can be easier said then done, but it is rewarding.
My encouragement to you, in all parts of your life – the good, the bad, the ugly- before you fear, FATHER. Pray FIRST! Pray BOLDLY! Pray in FAITH! {Believe in His Word- He is Faithful to it} Above all Pray In the Name of Jesus!
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Isaiah 41:10 NIV
“And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it” John 14:13-14 NKJV
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
