“Nothing outside a person can defile them by going into them. Rather, it is what comes out of a person that defiles them.” Mark 7:15
What defiles us?
Truly, this verse is hard to pray through as it is confusing and convicting all at once. Why did I ever pick it? Why did You put it on my heart? Still, they remind me of the power of words. The words You spoke brought this world and us, Your children, into existence. (See Genesis 1:3, 6, 9, 11, 14, 20, 24, 26, 29)
Father, my words and my deeds are what show who You are, or they defile me. They either build others up or tear them down. I could follow laws and rules, attend every church service, but if my words and deed do not align with You all the time then it is for nothing.
Lord, let both my words and my deeds be in full alignment with You. May I live Your words out daily.

Today I will remember that all the rule following and law keeping means nothing if I do not truly live out the ways of Jesus.
