On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinner.” Mark 2:17

Father, how often do we try every “cure’ we can think of or hear about without getting any lasting result? We, all too frequently, go to the best and lasting “cure,” You, as a final resort. We think, “when all else fails why not try this Jesus thing?”

Father, Thank You that we do not have to try everything to be “well.” You sent us Your son and in him we can be whole again. While our physical ailments may not always go away in this life, we can experience true joy in our lives when we are reconciled to You through Jesus and his sacrifice. Thank You that You sent him for sinners like me.

Lord, I am so thankful that Jesus came for sinners like me. May continue to share this precious gift of the gospel with others.

In Jesus Name

Today as I type this it is maundy Thursday. We are on the eve of Good Friday and the death of Jesus on the cross. Today I will not mourn Jesus’s death but rejoice in his rising for it is in his resurrection that I, that we, are also made alive. Eternal life with our Father in Heaven, Praise God!
