“Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.” Proverbs 27:17 ESV
Such a simple, but profound proverb. We are better together.
We were made by a communal God for community. God did not think Adam should be alone, so He gave him Eve. He gives us the people in our lives that help us along our journey.
Father, when I pray upon this Proverb, I think of how much I need people in my life to build me up, to sharpen me, and keep me following Your way. To grow in relationship with You, I need people who guide me to You instead of away from You. I need, also, to be that person for others.
Lord, let me remember to sharpen others and not be an obstacle to them as they seek You.

Today I will live out “sharpening others,” remembering the importance of community as we all seek to know the Lord and grow in relationship with Him.
