“And as for you, brothers and sisters, never tire of doing what is good.” 2 Thessalonians 3:13
Father, if we are truthful, we would admit that doing “good” can be extremely hard. As I come before You, I realize it is the trying that is so trying. I need to not try but simply do. I need to be obedient to You and live by Your Word. As I do so, this goodness will follow as fruit.
Father, thank You that we do not have to try so hard. In You we have rest. In You we can experience the fullness of joy that leads to abundant fruit. “Good” comes from being in You-abiding with You. We never have to be tired or grow tired of doing good when we stop “doing,” and, instead, live out Your will.
Lord, may I stop striving so hard and simply live in Your grace.
In Jesus Name
Today, if I should tire, I will ask God to fill me with His strength knowing that all good done by me is to bring Him glory.
