“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Fix our eyes! Light and momentary troubles!

Father, the troubles of this world do not last forever, nor do the joys. This may be tough for us to hear but it is true. Both troubled and joy-filled times build us and change us. And still, both are temporary. Life with You, God, Kingdom life, is eternal.

Father, let us not lose heart. May we enjoy this time in this place. May we seek, You, God, in it all; the good and the bad. May we remember that You are in it all. You will turn mourning into dancing and give meaning to all our troubles.

Lord, let me fix my eyes on You always. Let me always hold close to You not forgetting You when times are “good.” Let me remember that You will sustain me through it all.

In Jesus Name

 Today I will fix my eyes on God. I will keep an eternal view remembering this time here is, but a speck and troubles are only temporary.
